Bolton Chapel is of very old foundation. The present chapel includes a chancel arch and chancel walling of the Medieval period. The remainder of the chapel is in the imitative Romanesque style - but mainly is Post Medieval of the 19th century. It is a simple arrangement of chancel, nave, northern transept, vestry and south porch. There is no spire or tower - but a small belfry is arranged as a bellcote.
