Shropshire Union Canal, Picton Lane Bridge

This is bridge#136 over the Shropshire Union Canal. Dating from ca1795, it is built in brown brick with sandstone coping on the parapet. The bridge originally carried a minor road over the canal, and was converted into a footbridge during the 20th century when the current road and road bridge were built next to it. The bridge is a grade II listed building (English Heritage Building ID: 55420 http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-55420-picton-lane-bridge-136-stoke-#.VfSHO3mFOHs British Listed Buildings).
