Work has started at The Hollow (ie at Con O’Neill’s Bridge Image and the confluence Image). In the words of the official announcement “19 August 2015 Construction of the Connswater Community Greenway continues across most of east Belfast. Construction has now begun in the Hollow at Elmgrove to Beerbridge [sic] Road (section C6). This site is very special to the Connswater Community Greenway as it is where the Connswater River meets the Knock and the Loop Rivers and it is what our logo is based on!” The work includes new/ improved combined cycle way and walkway, landscaping, conservation of Conn O’Neill’s Bridge and river channel improvements. The site is completely closed and out of bounds to the public. This view is upstream from the Beersbridge Road Image The river is quite high after heavy overnight rain.
