A view from the fence at the side of the A5117 near Thornton-le-Moors. Stanlow https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanlow_Refinery is one of the largest and most well-known oil refineries in the UK, occupying nearly 1,900 acres on the southern bank of the Manchester Ship Canal.
