Tobermory / Tobar Mhoire

Why is Tobermory called Tobermory? It's an anglicised version of Tobar Mhoire, meaning "the well of Mary". And this is the well of Mary, the Tobar Mhoire from which the town gets its name. It's near the cemetery at the top of the town (at the western edge of the square, near the south-west corner).
