You know I'm sure the poster in the village said it was a sale, and being in search of potatoes for tea, I decided to support local growers, and passed by the Co-op on my way to the village hall. having paid my 50p to go in I realised (as it says outside) that it was in fact a show. Never mind, I was reassured, the produce would be sold off at the end - well most of it. So I waited. Eventually I watched as a sun-tanned lady bore down on the potatoes and loaded most of them into her bag. "You are taking them home them? I asked. She said that indeed she was. Not fancying the idea of waiting any longer and bidding up to an astronomic price for the last few precious spuds, I took some wonderful pictures of this super occasion, chatted to one of the artists (there were paintings on show), and left with no potatoes. It was nice though!
