The A-listed gateway (see: http://data.historic-scotland.gov.uk/pls/htmldb/f?p=2200:15:0::::BUILDING:2846 ) dated 1626. Opinions seem to differ on whether it was the laird's gateway to the kirkyard or a funeral porch.
