This sturdy stone farmhouse dates from the late 16th century (the adjoining extension to the right is merely 18th century) and is Grade II* listed http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-76438-hincaster-hall-hincaster-cumbria#.VedQTX06tI4 According to the 'Hincaster Trail' leaflet it 'was judged the 2nd prettiest in a competition in 1910'. I wonder who won?
