Looking north from the south end of platform 3, with the bay platforms (3C and 4C) on the right. The canopies in the foreground appear far more recent than the very functional looking overall roofs beyond. The bay platforms are little used, as nearly all trains approaching Preston from the south continue northwards, though I have a vague recollection of catching a train to Ormskirk (usually the only service from the south that terminates here) from one of them.
