Opened in 1849 by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway on what is today the line from Leeds to Preston, this station closed to passengers at the end of 1866 when it was replaced by Burnley Manchester Road railway station, situated immediately behind the camera position. View south east towards Towneley and Leeds.
