The pond at the northern part of the Port Sunlight River Park. This area is a new public space opened on 12 August 2014. Being a local I only noticed it recently from the brown-background leisure traffic signs on the nearby southbound A41 bypass. I read that 12,000 trees were planted on the site. There seems to be some issues about lack of parking and litter bins, but this is a wonderful site to visit, with benches dotted around to sit at on the gravel paths, plus the odd picnic bench. The park has an elevated position over the Mersey Estuary and gives some great views. The kids also seem to love it here!
