A new 400kV sub-station is being built (out of picture to the left) to accommodate additional off-shore wind generation. Scaffolding has been erected alongside the A683 to support the grid cables whilst they are rearranged. One phase of the first line to be moved has been lowered onto the scaffolding. The short lamp posts indicate that there is limited clearance above the road here. The scaffold will have to be rebuilt for the rearrangement of the second line, which is still live at present.
