Unusually marked on Lindfield's 1845 tithe map. The cottage was located on the edge of Walstead Common which crossed the road here and occupied a portion of land that has now been extended into by Image Beyond the tree is Image whilst the hedgerow to the right marks the course of Image The common was enclosed in 1856 and whilst the cottage was marked on the 1875 OS map it had disappeared from all editions after.
