The Geograph project started in 2005 with the aim of publishing, organising and preserving representative images for every square kilometre of Great Britain, Ireland and the Isle of Man.

As of mid-2015, funds have been secured to excavate and restore the pinfold. If planning permission is granted, the restoration should be complete in time for the 2016 Best Kept Village competition. Pinfolds were used to hold stray animals until claimed by their owners on payment of a fine.
