I have a photo from the 1930s showing the shop which appears here as Garston Butchers. In those days, it was a well-known cake shop - Duncan's. Their window displayed trays of fancies, chocolate éclairs, vanilla slices and cream horns! That was before Liverpool suffered a steady decline which was only reversed in recent decades.
