A representation of how Wormegay castle would have appeared when it controlled the causeway across The Fens, the church of St Michael and All Angels is well to the east of the present village which settled round the castle. The river is actually the Polver Drain which feeds into the relief channel of the Great Ouse at Wiggenhall. The bridge is at the eastern end of Castle Road floodplain and causeway. The village has a strong agricultural heritage, hence the pig, horse, wheatsheaf and sheep.
