This photo shows the remains of the former Morningside Road Station looking West towards Slateford Junction. This station was formerly known as Morningside Station, but its name was changed by the North British Railway in October 1886. It closed in September 1962 when passenger services were withdrawn from the Edinburgh Suburban Line, although this line still continues to be used by freight services and the occasional diverted passenger train.
