On Alfreton Road. Edgar Storer was the clerk to the Parish Council of Blackwell (which covers Newton, Westhouses and Hilcote as well as Blackwell) from 1976 to 2003. He was the author of a book of great value to local historians, "The Parish and Parish Council of the Parish of Blackwell", published in 1994.
