Plaque for Doctors' Commons

This Plaque is located on the north side of Upper Thames Street and marks the site of the now demolished Doctors' Commons. Also called the College of Civilians, The Doctors' Commons was a society of lawyers practising civil law in London. The society had buildings with rooms where its members lived and worked and a big library. Blue Plaques in The City of London differ from those elsewhere being rectangular rather than circular.
