This view of Abberton Reservoir is taken from the causeway that carries the minor road from Gt Wigborough to Layer Breton across the lake (looking towards Layer Bretton). The falling water levels caused by the dry summer have revealed the surface of the old road before the valley was flooded. In really dry years a bridge across the stream that was dammed also becomes visible.
