I remember when these trains were used on the Cambrian route from Wolverhampton to Aberystwyth in the lat '80s and early '90s when regularly commuting from London. The trains from London were relatively comfortable Mk2 carriages. At Wolverhampton one changed for the Aberystwyth bound class 150 and which then had 'suburban' style 5 a side seating. There followed a three hour journey of rattling and shaking. Never to be forgotten! We now have the relatively more comfortable class 158 units on the Cambrian lines.
