The name sign on the Dam Road – a minor road running from the Cotton Road Image in the direction of the high road from Bangor to Donaghadee. The Ordnance Survey Memoirs (1830’s) record “The road from Donaghadee to Newtownards also traverses the parish for about a mile and a half. Its average breadth is 40 feet and it is kept in very good repair. There are an abundance of cross and by-roads in the parish, kept in passable repair by the barony [county].”
