This tower once played a vital part in the defence of Britain in WW2 when it was part of the Chain Home radar station at RAF Canewdon see Image One of its twin towers from Canewdon was resited in cut down form to the Welsh coast. This tower was used by Marconi for various types of radio frequency research.
