The name of the field according to Balcombe's 1839 tithe map that lies between Balcombe Lane, the B2036, to the west and Monks Farm to the east. The latter appears to have included a public house called the Miners Arms according to the 1839 survey which had disappeared by the time of the 1874 OS map.
