Station Square in Fort William is about half a mile from the station. There is an explanation for this. Fort William's railway station was relocated from here to its present site in 1975. The Disused Stations website http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/f/fort_william/ gives more detail of the history of the station which used to stand adjacent to Station Square.
