Topiary which dates from Roman times is the art of training plants and trees by clipping the foliage to develop clearly defined shapes, such as this evergreen shrub (Ligustrum jonandrum) which has taken years to transform into a galleon and is currently on display outside the Waterside Garden Centre near Bourne with a price label that no doubt reflects the time and expertise involved.
