View southward, towards London, Oxford, Reading etc., ex-GWR West Midlands main line and junction for the ex-GCR main line to Leicester, Sheffield etc. Ex-GWR 'Hall' 4-6-0 No. 6906 'Chicheley Hall' (built 11/40, withdrawn 4/65) has brought from Basingstoke an express from Bournemouth Central going to Sheffield Victoria by the ex-GCR route via Woodford Halse and will probably be taken over here by an Eastern Region locomotive. Note that the train is partly made up of Gresley ex-LNER stock.
