The Forncett villages consist of Forncett St Peter, the largest, Forncett St Mary and Forncett End St. Edmund. The monk seen top left in front of St Mary’s church represents John of Fornsette who was reputedly born in Forncett. Top right depicts St Peter’s church and the riots which took place in 1822. The lower half represents the old Manor House and the postmill is representative of the two mills which once stood in the village. In the centre of the sign is the crest of Roger Bigod, 2nd Earl of Norfolk. The post is set into a flint base capped by a millstone from the White Mill. The other was known as the Black Mill.
