Cycle path passing under the Metro extension to South Hylton

The Tyne and Wear Metro was extended from Sunderland to South Hylton in 2002 making use in the main of the line of the former Sunderland to Durham railway. A cycle path runs closely parallel to the line, at this point passing from the south to the north side.
