Built just after the Norman conquest by Hubert de Laval it was for almost eight hundred years the private chapel for owners of Seaton Delaval Hall on whose estate is stands. It was given over to the parish for their worship in 1891.The interior has a wealth of Norman detail and medieval artefacts. Sadly the church was closed at the time of the photographer's visit.
