The depot in Manning Road was opened by Johnson Brothers Limited in 1965 on the site of the old brewery, retailing and servicing a wide variety of farm machinery ranging from tractors to lawn mowers but closed in 2005 and the 1.3 acre site was redeveloped as a complex of apartments for elderly people known as Browning Court.
