These days the railway line carried by the bridge is no more than a short military spur, giving access to the army depot at Ludgershall. But the bridge was built by the Midland & South Western Junction Railway, as part of its cross-country route that ran north from Andover to Swindon - and on into Gloucestershire. The view is south-west, towards Fyfield village.
