It may be gloomy, but it's mid-morning and broad daylight, so why are all the lights blazing? I discovered the answer a little way along the new cycle path, where a workman was repairing vandalised lights and putting protective cages around them - see Image for the unprotected lights a few weeks earlier. They all had to be switched on for him to ensure they were working. Alas, vandals make a habit of destroying such lights in the area.
