When I first knew this area in the early 1970s the hedge removing craze was at its height and apart from established woodland, every tree and hedge was eliminated. It created what I felt was the most sterile, bleak landscape in the whole of Lincolnshire. Now trees line the roads and in the summer months at least it all looks much pleasanter, but the odd hedgerow wouldn't come amiss!
