This level crossing is on the former Aldeburgh branch line which now goes as far as a railhead near the Sizewell Nuclear Power Stations. The line was used to transport fuel and materials to and from the old Sizewell A Magnox station. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aldeburgh_Branch_Line The line has not been used since the last fuel was removed from the A station in August 2014 http://www.magnoxsites.co.uk/site/sizewell-a/ . The line may be used again for the construction of the proposed Sizewell C
