Northern Rail have hired 2 loco-hauled trains from Direct Rail Services to operate some of their Cumbrian Coast services. This has released some of their DMU stock for use elsewhere. Class 37 diesel 37409 forms the rear of a Barrow train at Platform 5, shortly after heading the train from Carlisle.
