Despite its rather unprepossessing appearance, this building is listed Grade II. Formerly the local YMCA, it is now a Wetherspoon'spub. The principal reason for the listing is an interior mural painting of 1948 by the then young local artist Eric Rimmington depicting Portsmouthscenes from the immediate postwar period.
