Most of the church is C15 but there are C12 and C13 elements present. The church was in the possession of the Knights Templar until their dissolution in the C14. The spire was struck by lightning and damaged in 1900. Since 1639 the Patron of the church has been the Master of Corpus Christi College, Oxford.
