Opposite St Mary's parish church, the former Cottingham Board School, 1892, by John Bilson. In 2008, when infants and juniors amalgamated and transferred to a new school on the site of the old rectory, the Council sold the Board School buildings to a private faith school. Now the Focus School, an independent Christian primary and secondary, operated by Northmoor Education Trust. To the east of the school, a terrace of dwellings at Nos.60 to 68 Hallgate.
