Now in St Peter's Church, Carmarthen Sir Rhys was instrumental in the accession of Henry Tudor to the throne of England in 1485. Henry Tudor became Henry the Seventh, the founder of the great Tudor dynasty. Rhys ap Thomas led an army from Carmarthenshire to fight for Henry at the Battle of Bosworth
