The friendly owners opened this cupboard and revealed the gearing for a watermill. The wheel survives beyond the becurtained windows. This is classic watermill technology with wooden hurst frame, cast iron wheel shaft and pit wheel, a wooden vertical shaft carrying wallower and wooden great spur wheel. The tentering beams are also wooden. Two sets of stones are on the floor above. This excellent mill was open for National Mills Open Weekend.
