This building has a very useful dated stone set into the wall that reads: THE WEST CUMBERLAND INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT COMPANY LIMITED, THE MILLOM TANNERY, This stone was laid by FRANK ANDERSON ESQ. M.P. on the 28th April 1930 ENGINEER, S.A.DODD AMI STRUCT ENG. Despite it run down state the style of the 1930's art-deco/modernism is evident.
