These gabion baskets were placed to protect from erosion the river bank of the Mill Brook stream and ultimately the private bridge over the Mill Brook that carries a private drive up to the house of Sec Tor. As can be seen the gabions have failed and moved into the centre of the stream allowing water to get behind the gabions and erode the river so that the erosion is actually worse and now threatening the end of the bridge. The photographer is standing on the threatened part of the roadway close to the bridge. in the background is the small wooden bridge that carries the public footpath over the brook.
