Harmer Green's war memorial records the names of 13 men who died in the First World War and just one who died in the Second World War. They were:- Victor Cadwell, Bedfordshire Regiment Lieutenant C H Dixon, Royal Field Artillery Lance Corporal W W Edwards, East Kent Regiment Company Sergeant Major E T Ephgrave, Bedfordshire Regiment Albert F Knapp, Royal West Kent Regiment James Mardell, Bedfordshire Regiment Captain Herbert F Miles, Kings Own Scottish Borderers Sub-Lieutenant Owen Philip Powell, R N, H M S Verulam Captain David Russell, London Regiment Post Office Rifles Lieutenant Lawrence Russell, West Riding Regiment Sergeant Edward Shadbolt, Bedfordshire Regiment Lance-Corporal Frank Underhill, Hertfordshire Regiment Captain J H L Yorke, Pembroke I Y attached Welch Regiment ---------------------------------------------------------- Chief Petty Officer John Walker, R N
