This brick shuttered, polygonal type 22 pillbox was one of several guarding the nearby Chain Home radar station. After the war it formed the base of a modern telecommunications mast which has since been removed again but is still shown on the map. Another pillbox located a short distance to the south-east had been demolished by 1955.
