The back wall of the passenger shelter http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4476096 at the unstaffed station shows railway timetables and which platform to go to for your direction of travel. The signpost arm pointing right shows that it's 1¾ miles (about 2.8km) to Patchway, one of many instances where a station is located a long way from the centre of the locality after which it is named.
