Stretton Bridge - Watling Street crosses the River Penk

A major river crossing, as the Penk has been a barrier to East-West travel in this area for a long time. In the early 1960s, the OS placed a benchmark rivet on the southern parapet (righthand side in this picture) but it seems to have gone missing in the meantime.
