As part of the widening of the M60 through the Mersey valley, a new suspension bridge was constructed to replace a shorter tunnel. This is the ramp on the northern side, with Sale Water Park and the Trafford Watersports Centre behind the camera position. The kissing gates are probably to prevent use with motorbikes, but are wide enough to take smaller mobility vehicles and can be unlocked to take larger vehicles.
