Stevens' Mill - Engine drive

This nut was for the ancillary engine drive. Originally a portable steam engine and later a stationary (oil?) engine. Part of Burwell museum. Stevens' Mill has been restored to working order again thanks to a generous Heritage Lottery Fund grant. The four storey towermill was built for Oliver Carter in 1820 and continued producing flour until the Great War. The building is grade II* listed.
