This stark pile of rubble is what remains of the Fox Inn on George Street. I was a little taken aback to see this, as I lived in South Hiendley for 15 years throughout the 1970s and 80s, and spent many a happy hour in there. The last time I passed by a couple of years ago, it was boarded up! On the opposite side of the small parking area was a fine red brick stable and a two storey warehouse, which for a while was occupied by the village garden and allotment society of which my father was a member. All is not totally lost, as I recovered a pair of Oakland Brothers bricks that I've now painted.
